Every year, the Visiting International Professional Program (VIPP) at Michigan State University (MSU) hosts a photo essay contest called "America through your Lens." The goal of this contest was to listen to VIPP participants' unique perspectives and voices studying and living at MSU and in Michigan and give them an opportunity to share with VIPP and MSU families.


Chinese delegates took a guided tour at Farm Bureau to learn about dairy operation.

A 19-member delegation from the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture visited both Michigan Farm Bureau (MFB) and the Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA) plant in Ovid on Wednesday Nov. 15, 2017. Our visit was covered by Michigan Farm News.


VIPP visited MSU ROTC with participant LTC Jaehan Lee. Lee is at MSU studying organizational leadership.

VIPP at MSU visited MSU Spartan Battalion, Army ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps). VIPP's Assistant Director Dr. Mina Shin arranged a visit for VIPP participant Jaehan Lee, who is a Korean Army Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) as well as a professor at Korea National Defense University. He was selected by his university to come to MSU to study organizational leadership.


VIPP welcomed 24 participants from TVTC in Saudi Arabia to a Quality Management workshop for the second time since 2013.

The Visiting International Professional Program (VIPP) at Michigan State University (MSU) proudly hosted its second workshop for TVTC (Technical Vocational Training Corporation) participants from Saudi Arabia. We welcomed 24 general directors, with five participants returning from the 2013 workshop.


VIPP hosted welcome 14 senior officials from the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Education and 19 educators from the Hainan Department of Education in China for a gala at the Broad Art Museum.

VIPP was honored to host two international groups that are normally over 4,000 miles apart. VIPP organized an evening gala at the MSU Broad Art Museum to welcome senior officials from the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Education and educators from the Hainan Department of Education in China. They were all connected for their passion for education and desire to bring in reforms to the K-12 educational system in their country.


VIPP hosted a group of educational leaders from Kyrgyzstan who were invited by the US Department of State's IVLP to learn about the U.S. education system.

VIPP at MSU was honored to host a group of educational leaders from Kyrgyzstan who were invited by the US Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). The group has been traveling the U.S. to get a broad overview of U.S. education system and the roles of federal and state governments in education.


Chinese engineers and professors involved in ecological and geographical research visited MSU for a VIPP workshop.

VIPP welcomed a delegation from the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography in China to a professional development workshop at MSU. The members of the delegation were senior engineers and professors who are involved in ecological and geographical research in China. The group is currently working on establishing a research hub in Central Asia and was at MSU to establish connections to future network partners and to learn about innovative research approaches.


Young entrepreneurs from Shanghai traveled to MSU to broaden their understanding of Organization, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship at the 2017 VIPP workshop.

VIPP had the pleasure to host a group of young entrepreneurs from Shanghai for an executive workshop focusing on organization management, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The workshop consisted of a number of organized visits and professional meetings, which provided the group with great opportunities to link theory, practice, and their own experience in the area of organizational change and innovation.


VIPP participants recently took a class field trip to the Tollgate Wetlands in Lansing as part of Jessica DeForest’s class “Environmental Policy Issues & Community Engagement.”

VIPP participants recently took a class field trip to the Tollgate Wetlands in Lansing as part of Jessica DeForest's class "Environmental Policy Issues & Community Engagement." The wetlands are a series of man-made ponds and waterfalls with natural features. It is designed to reduce flooding in the surrounding neighborhoods and clean storm runoff that enters the Red Cedar River.


VIPP helped kick-off the Spartan football season by hosting a tailgate party.
