Mina Shin Appointed Assistant Director For VIPP

The Visiting International Professional Program (VIPP) is pleased to announce that Dr. Mina Shin has been appointed as Assistant Director of Communications, Marketing and Outreach, effective Sep 1. In this capacity, she will be responsible for developing and managing the strategic communications, marketing, branding, and outreach initiatives for VIPP. Shin will lead efforts to promote VIPP's mission and vision, build VIPP's reputation at MSU and beyond, and assist in recruiting efforts to attract more business opportunities.
Shin joined VIPP in 2013 as a program coordinator and managed many programs, including short-term workshops for the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Ministry of Strategy and Finance, Ministry of Security and Public Administration of South Korea. Prior to VIPP, she was a visiting assistant professor of Film Studies and Korean Studies in the Department of Linguistics & German, Slavic, Asian & African Languages and was core faculty of Global Studies in Arts and Humanities at MSU. She taught courses on film, popular cultures, diversity, and globalization. Shin earned a bachelor's degree in Korean Language Education from Seoul National University and master's and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California.
