VIPP is excited to announce that we are offering a new course called "Ecology and Community," taught by our instructor Jessica DeForest. The course is built to develop leadership and communication skills while learning about basic environmental and urban planning issues. Students took a field trip to Mid-Michigan Environmental Action Council (MidMEAC) to learn about the preservation of Michigan's environment.


VIPP took a field trip to the Nokomis Center to learn about the indigenous culture in Michigan.

The brand new course "Discovering Michigan" in the Visiting International Professional Program (VIPP) at Michigan State University (MSU) opened visiting scholars' eyes to the forgotten history and legacy of indigenous people in State of Michigan.


MSU International Reunion took place in Hong Kong and Beijing 2017

More than a hundred MSU alumni attended the MSU reunions and events named Engage in Hong Kong on May 19-21. Alumni from Australia, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and U.S. participated in a range of events over the weekend including sustainability seminars, panel discussions, beach clearing, networking reception and gala dinner.

Earlier this week VIPP students in Joe Cousins’ American Culture class visited the Berkowitz Basketball Complex to meet with the MSU Women’s Basketball team.

Earlier this week VIPP students in Joe Cousins' American Culture class visited the Berkowitz Basketball Complex to meet with the MSU Women's Basketball team. Participants met Coach Suzy Merchant and senior Tori Jankoska and had the chance to tour the facility including its offices, locker rooms, and practice gym.


During VIPP’s brown bag seminar, participants learned about the harsh realities that many women face in Africa.

During VIPP's brown bag seminar, participants learned about the harsh realities that many women face in Africa. Dr. Sung Lee, a member of the East Lansing Rotary Club and VIPP advisory board member, shared his experiences in Africa and talked about the Rotary Club International.
