We accept applications on a rolling basis. The VIPP academic year consists of a fall semester, a spring semester, and a summer semester. VIPP follows the Michigan State University academic calendar. VIPP fall semesters generally begin in the last week of August or first week of September and end in the first week of December. VIPP spring semesters generally begin in early January and end the last week of April.

To accommodate visiting professionals who may arrive in the middle of the semester, VIPP courses are half-semester-long courses which normally begin early January, mid-March, late August or late October.

Summer 2025  

• May 12, 2025 – MSU & VIPP Summer I Begins
• June 26, 2025 – MSU & VIPP Summer I Ends

• August 14, 2025 – MSU & VIPP Summer II Ends

Start Dates and Application Deadlines

Participants can choose any one of six program starting dates but in order to start your program on time, all applications should be submitted at least four months prior to each starting date. 

2024 Fall 2 starting October 23, 2024 - Application due by June 24, 2024

2025 Spring 1 starting January 6, 2025 - Application due by September 7, 2024

2025 Spring 2 starting March 3, 2025 - Application due by November 4, 2024

2025 Summer 1 starting May 12, 2025 - Application due by January 13, 2025

2025 Summer 2 starting June 30, 2025 - Application due by February 28, 2025

2025 Fall 1 starting August 25, 2025 – Application due by April 26, 2025

2025 Fall 2 starting October 22, 2025 – Application due by June 23, 2025
