VIPP's first virtual workshop was held in collaboration with the South Korean Ministry of Personnel Management. The workshop examined the effects of Covid-19 on society and shared strategies for preparing for the post-pandemic era. Korean government leaders and public servants had the opportunity to discuss their challenges and gain insights from one another. The training featured scholars, leaders, and experts in communications, public administration, sociology, education, public health, and international politics.
Michigan State University, Lansing Community College, and Calvin College all came together to host EducationUSA, a week-long advisor training institute. The prestigious training program gives academic advisers the opportunity to tour campuses so that when they return home, they can more effectively advise international students.
VIPP organized a nine-day training workshop for 20 trauma doctors and public officials from South Korea. The delegation visited three Level 1 trauma centers across America, including Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, University of Michigan Medical Center, and University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, to benchmark the U.S. trauma care system.

VIPP designed a program for USDA Cochran Fellows in the restaurant industry. During two weeks in Chicago and East Lansing, the hotel and restaurant professionals had the opportunity to learn from some of the industry’s finest. In Chicago the Fellows attended field visits to five-star hotels, four-star hotels and Michelin-star decorated hotels and restaurants. In East Lansing, the programming focused on local breweries, wineries, distilleries, vineyards, and organic farms.
VIPP hosted 5 delegates from Azerbaijan who were visiting the U.S. through the US Department of State IVLP. The group visited Lansing Community College and the Michigan Department of Education to learn about policies on vocational education and how the community college implements programs to ensure students have the essential skills needed for careers in the 21st century.
During VIPP's second workshop for TVTC (Technical Vocational Training Corporation) participants from Saudi Arabia focused on quality management. The workshop, titled "Innovative Organizational Trends to Develop Business Practices and Applications According to the EFQM" included visits to Peckham, a Lansing based non-profit, as well as Henry Ford College.
VIPP hosted 19 Chinese delegates from the Ministry of Agriculture for a two-week training on Agricultural Emergency Management. Delegates visited Michigan Farm Bureau and went on a guided tour of the Michigan Milk Producers Association Plant in Ovid, Michigan. The delegates also toured butter and dry milk operation facilities to learn about food safety, from the testing of milk to the final processing stage. The program also included a visit to the MSU Kellogg Biological Station.
VIPP hosted a group of young entrepreneurs from Shanghai for a 10-day executive workshop on organization management, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The workshop consisted of a number of organized visits and professional meetings, which provided the group with great opportunities to link theory, practice, and their own experience in the area of organizational change and innovation. A highlight of the workshop was a visit to Google, Ann Arbor.
A 10-day long workshop took place in Canada for sixteen public officials from the Seoul Metropolitan Government in South Korea. Delegates visited Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa, Niagara Falls, and Toronto, and met Canadian government officials and business executives.
