This two-week interactive training was designed for a group of MBA students from Kazakhstan who are business executives working in the private sector. The program guided each participant through a personal journey of discovery, which enabled a deep conscious competence in all of the factors needed to grow a mindset of leadership, innovation and organization-center entrepreneurship.

The program consisted of three separate but interconnected parts:

  • Leading in organizations; Understanding the range and differences in potential leadership styles one may encounter.
  • Using the psychometric indicator MBTI to understand personal preferences and the preferences of others in Leadership and Management, and the preferences that exist within the culture of organizations that creates environments that might strategically decide to keep change to a minimum, or nurture and foster innovation and entrepreneurial behavior.
  • Innovation is best fostered in a performing team environment. The Jones Belbin team selection and role definition instrument is used to understand how to build an innovative performing team.

Corporate visits and professional meetings with Michigan business leaders provided valuable insight into U.S. business culture and practice. The program was featured on the Kazakh national news.
